Communications and Brand Manager / Grade 23

Supports the Communications Department by managing marketing and communications projects, maintaining brand consistency, and supervising day- to-day activities. Advances MSD’s marketing and outreach efforts by coordinating campaigns, supporting messaging development, and ensuring high- quality execution across platforms. Provides operational and administrative support to ensure efficient workflow and organization across the department.Supports the development and execution of marketing and outreach campaigns to promote MSD programs and services. Coordinates campaign timelines, deliverables, and assets across digital and traditional platforms. Drafts, edits, and reviews communications materials including digital content, media materials, and internal communications. Ensures all materials align with MSD brand standards, voice, and messaging. Coordinates project timelines, workflows, and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met. Provides day-to-day supervision and guidance to communications staff, including assigning work and monitoring progress. Organizes and prioritizes departmental projects, deadlines, and critical information. Coordinates meetings, calendars, agendas, and preparation of materials. Maintains records, files, and documentation in accordance with guidelines. Develops and maintains spreadsheets and project tracking tools. Supports procurement processes including invoices, purchase requests, and vendor coordination. Tracks communications-related budgets and project expenses. Coordinates with internal departments to align messaging and support communication needs. Coordinates the ordering, inventory, and distribution of marketing and promotional materials. Manages relationships with vendors to ensure timely production and delivery of materials. Tracks usage and maintains inventory of branded items and outreach materials. Assists in planning and preparing materials for events, outreach efforts, and campaigns. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge of communications, marketing, branding, and public relations principles, practices and techniques; knowledge of MSD from a financial, regulatory, business and historical perspective; knowledge of administrative and office management practices; skill in oral and written communication; skill in exercising tact and diplomacy; skill in operating a PC and associated Windows environment software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite); skill in managing multiple priorities; skill in project management; skill in translating technical operational plans and language into messaging for various audiences; ability to supervise a diverse workforce; ability to resolve problems; ability to establish goals and priorities; ability to plan and organize work effectively; ability to exercise judgment and discretion; ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure; ability to work effectively under heavy, unpredictable surges in workload and deadline pressure; ability to work 24 hour emergency response.Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business administration, or a related field; five or more years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Two or more years of supervisory experience is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have safe work and driving habits.
