Head of Talent Story & Culture
at TRM Labs
Build a Safer World.
TRM Labs provides AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM's platforms enable investigators to trace illicit activity, build cases, and construct operating pictures of threat networks. Leading agencies and businesses worldwide rely on TRM to make the world safer and more secure.
TRM is a genuinely unusual company. Our investigators have helped expose North Korean state hackers. Our technology has traced stolen assets to their source within hours of a theft. The people here came from the CIA, NSA, Goldman Sachs, and Google — united by the belief that crypto shouldn't be a free pass for bad actors. Most people don't know this. You'll change that.
As Head of Talent Culture & Identity, you'll shape how the world's best people perceive TRM — not through press releases or LinkedIn posts, but through narrative that makes someone stop and think that's where I want to be. You'll find the emotional core of what makes TRM worth joining, give it shape and voice, and figure out how to make it land with the people who matter most.
This is a high-autonomy role. You'll set the quality bar and own the story. You'll partner with a strong executor who handles distribution and operational fundamentals — your job is the vision, the voice, and the narrative architecture.
What you'll do
-
Unearth and shape TRM's employer narrative — the stories, characters, and moments that make the company feel alive to an outsider
-
Define what belonging at TRM looks and feels like, then build the artifacts that communicate it: content, experiences, community, media
-
Work directly with TRM's leadership, investigators, and engineers to surface the stories that no one else is telling
-
Create cultural positioning that attracts people who are the best at what they do — and who want to be somewhere that matches their standard
-
Shape TRM's presence in the rooms that matter — with a sharp point of view, not just a logo
-
Develop a clear opinion on which audiences TRM should be famous with, and architect a path to get there
Who you are
-
You may not have "talent marketing" on your resume. That's intentional — this function doesn't really exist at the level we need it, so we'd rather find someone who has built something analogous somewhere else.
What we're looking for is someone who has made people want to be part of something. Maybe you: -
Built community and belonging for an organization where the identity of membership mattered as much as the offering itself
-
Created the cultural narrative for a brand, team, or institution that people were proud to be associated with
-
Directed creative for organizations where emotional resonance was the whole point
-
Know how to find the human truth in something and make it land with the right audience
-
Beyond background, you have a genuinely high quality bar — you can feel the difference between content that resonates and content that just exists. You operate well with autonomy, think in terms of identity and belonging rather than just channels and metrics, and can extract a compelling story from a conversation, a policy doc, or a product demo. You're energized by TRM's mission — the work here is serious, and you'll need to make that land without making it feel heavy.
About the Team:
- You'll partner closely with Marketing, Talent, and TRM's senior leadership. Your execution partner handles the operational layer — distribution, performance tracking, logistics — so you can stay focused on craft and strategy. The culture here rewards high ownership, speed, and taste.
Team Operating Rhythms:
-
Work hours: Minimum 4-hour overlap with EST business hours
-
Communication: async-first with synchronous check-ins as needed
Learn about TRM Speed in this position:
-
Within 30 days, you have shipped your first executive-bylined long-form piece and have a 90-day editorial calendar in flight
-
Within 60 days, you have launched the cadence: a recurring channel (podcast, newsletter, or blog series) is publishing on a predictable schedule and being measured
-
Within 90 days, the recruiting team is closing on candidates who cite your content as the reason they applied
Life at TRM
We are building a safer world. That promise shows up in how we work every day.
TRM moves quickly. We are a high velocity, high ownership team that expects clarity, follow-through, and impact. People who thrive here are energized by hard problems, experimentation, and continuous feedback. If something takes months elsewhere, it will ship here in days.
Our work sits at the intersection of AI, national security, and fighting crime. The problems are complex, the stakes are real, and the environment evolves quickly. The pace and intensity of the work reflect the importance of the mission. As a result, the way we operate requires a high level of ownership, adaptability, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
At TRM, you should expect:
-
Priorities and targets to change quickly as we experiment and iterate
-
Work that often requires operating with a high degree of ambiguity
-
A high level of personal ownership and accountability
-
Close collaboration across teams and functions
-
Frequent, high-touch communication
-
Creative problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking
-
A pace that rewards urgency, adaptability, and outcomes
This environment is energizing for people who enjoy building, solving hard problems, and making progress in situations that are not always fully defined. It also requires comfort navigating ambiguity, adjusting course as new information emerges, and maintaining focus and positivity in a fast-moving and intense environment.
We also recognize that this style of operating is not for everyone. If you are primarily optimizing for predictability or a consistently balanced workload, we encourage you to use the interview process to pressure test whether this environment is truly the right fit. We want teammates who thrive here, not just survive here.
At the same time, many people find this work deeply rewarding. If you are excited by meaningful problems, motivated by ambitious goals, and energized by working alongside mission-driven colleagues, there is a good chance you will find TRM to be an exceptional place to grow and contribute. Leadership Principles
We hire and grow against three leadership principles. They’re the standards for how we operate, treat each other, and make decisions.
-
Impact-Oriented Trailblazer: We put customers first and move with speed, focus, and adaptability. We treat every plan like an experiment – test, ship, measure, and iterate quickly.
-
Master Craftsperson: We care deeply about our craft. We balance speed with high standards, own outcomes end‑to‑end, and invest in getting better everyday.
-
Inspiring Colleague: We add clarity and energy, not noise. We bring humility, candor, and a one‑team mindset — giving and receiving feedback to make the team stronger.
Join our Mission
At TRM we care deeply about our craft. We are looking for individuals who want their work to matter, who experiment with speed and rigor, and who take pride in building a safer world for billions of people. If you’re excited by TRM’s mission but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply — we hire for slope, judgment, and the will to learn fast.
