Essential Functions:
Provides automation engineering leadership and is responsible for developing
and implementing automated and semi-automated manufacturing solutions across
Adams Rite Aerospace Fluids and Electro-mechanical Hardware product lines. The
Manufacturing Automation Engineer will work with both assembly and machining
operations to develop unique solutions and customize existing available
equipment for multi-disciplinary manufacturing.
Role Qualifications:
• Strong communication and project management skills with the ability to lead
cross-functional projects, coordinate vendors, manage timelines, and drive
issue resolution in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems including PLC
programming, troubleshooting, and integration using Siemens TIA Portal,
Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley, robotics, machine vision systems, and
automated manufacturing equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing bottlenecks, analyze process
inefficiencies, and implement automation solutions to improve cycle time,
quality, uptime, and labor efficiency.
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD and mechanical design tools such as SOLIDWORKS
for tooling design, equipment layout review, fixture development, and
manufacturing implementation support.
• Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering
specifications.
• Demonstrated experience with lean principles and driving productivity
improvements in a cross-functional setting.
• Outstanding spreadsheet utilization skills along with proficiency in word
processing, presentation and project management software (MS Office).
Education and Experience:
• BS Degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience working in a machining
or assembly manufacturing industry as an Automation Engineer.
• Experience with aerospace or other highly regulated industry with high mix,
low volume machining and assembly experience is preferred.
• Basic programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and
C++ preferred for automation support, data analysis, equipment interfacing,
and process improvement applications.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required
to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, climb
stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather
conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office.
The noise level is moderate. The factory floor is in the same building as the
office. May be exposed to the machinery, machine noise, fumes, and dust.
