About This Role

A Day in the Life of a Manufacturing Engineer III:

· Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering authority for complex DoD weapon system production, including electro-mechanical, cabling/harnesses, and precision‑machined assemblies.

· Lead development, qualification, and continuous improvement of advanced manufacturing processes, tooling concepts, and production technologies.

· Drive early engagement with design engineering to influence architecture, producibility, and manufacturing cost models using DFM/DFA and value‑engineering principles.

· Oversee and approve manufacturing process documentation, tool designs, routing structures, and configuration-controlled build packages.

· Lead root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation for high-impact production issues, MRB activities, and quality escapes.

· Develop manufacturing readiness assessments, major program estimates, and investment strategies for capital equipment and automation.

· Act as technical lead across production, quality, supply chain, and engineering to resolve cross-functional challenges affecting cost, schedule, and technical performance.

· Mentor and guide junior staff, providing coaching, training, and technical leadership.

· Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies including additive manufacturing, automated assembly, digital manufacturing, and advanced inspection systems.

· Represent Manufacturing Engineering at IPTs, MRB, configuration boards, proposal teams, and customer technical meetings.
