Carolina Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital (CASE) is seeking a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to support our growing Internal Medicine team within our collaborative 24/7 Emergency & Specialty Referral Hospital in Hickory, NC.

Scheduling & On-Call Expectations
This is a full-time specialty RVT opportunity supporting a referral-based Internal Medicine caseload. Candidates should be comfortable with a flexible schedule that supports patient care needs within a specialty hospital environment.
Participation in a rotating weekend on-call schedule is required to support
urgent Internal Medicine cases, hospitalized patients, and continuity of care
after hours. RVTs will work closely with our Internal Medicine specialists and
Emergency team to ensure seamless patient support during on-call coverage.
Internal Medicine RVT – Key Responsibilities
As part of our Internal Medicine team , you will play a critical role in supporting complex specialty cases and advanced patient care.
Internal Medicine & Advanced Diagnostics
- Assist with advanced Internal Medicine procedures and diagnostics
- Support endoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, and ultrasound procedures
- Collect and process advanced diagnostic samples
- Monitor hospitalized Internal Medicine patients
- Support management of chronic and complex medical cases
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation
Emergency & Critical Care Support
- Monitor and manage hospitalized ICU and specialty patients
- Perform advanced catheter placement and nursing care
- Support emergency stabilization and treatment workflows
- Provide advanced patient monitoring and advocacy
Anesthesia & Procedural Support
- Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Support advanced procedural sedation and pain management
- Assist with invasive monitoring and specialty procedures
Clinical Leadership & Mentorship
- Serve as a clinical resource for Veterinary Assistants and technicians
- Mentor and support junior technicians
- Assist with workflow optimization and SOP development
- Support technician training and continuing education initiatives
- Collaborate closely with board-certified specialists and emergency clinicians
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT/CVT) license
- Ability to obtain North Carolina RVT licensure if currently out of state

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Internal Medicine, Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, or Anesthesia
- Previous referral or specialty hospital experience
- Advanced procedural and diagnostic experience
- Interest in pursuing a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) pathway
- Current VTS certification strongly encouraged to apply:
