Master Fabricator

This role involves fabricating and welding metal components based on blueprints and specifications. Duties include measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding materials; reading and interpreting weld symbols and diagrams; and using tools like calipers and gauges for precision. You'll operate heavy machinery, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards. Strong mechanical skills and the ability to follow detailed plans are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
- Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures and other welding/fabrication hand tools
- Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
- Fabrication involves laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring and welding metals to create structures/components
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work
- Grinding and finishing completed projects
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to develop and design work plans and welding projects to meet manufacturing needs
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
- Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklift, scissor lift and other mobile equipment
_Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Employee must be able to obtain a tow motor license and successfully pass LOTO and confined space training.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as MIG and ARC welding
- Previous experience in welding/fabrication
- High school, college or industry courses in welding techniques
- Constant awareness of surroundings
- Requires pushing/pulling/lifting (up to 50 lbs)
