GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Criminal Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a Sergeant that performs investigative law enforcement work. Work involves investigative work within the Child Exploitation Unit. Work includes conducting criminal investigations of violations of various state and federal statutes. This is a grant funded position.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts in depth technological investigations and surveillance operations
  • Documents the investigative process by preparing records and reports
  • Evaluates and summarizes legal aspects of investigations, recommending action as appropriate
  • Identifies, gathers, and examines evidence, including complex records of individuals, associates, and corporations
  • Locates, contacts, and interviews potential witnesses and suspects
  • Obtains and prepares affidavits, statements, and confessions
  • Participates on entry team to execute search warrants and make arrests
  • Participates in raids, searches, manhunts, and other operations
  • Participates in executing court orders, warrants, and subpoenas
  • Testifies as a witness in trials or formal hearings, and provides trial assistance to lead attorney as requested
  • Performs related work as assigned
  • Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
  • Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
  • Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
  • Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
