ICU/EM Swing/Day shift CVT’s are primarily responsible for tending to the needs and care of hospitalized patients as well as some incoming emergencies. This requires utilization of a high degree of technical skills, triaging, and use of monitoring tools to assess and care for patients with compassion and Fear Free techniques. The ICU nurse maintains continuous communication with veterinarians to ensure that the highest quality patient care is provided. Communication between the day, swing, and night shift is essential.
