Position Summary:

AAA United States, Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist-Class A to works within a team environment to install, repair, and align shipboard equipment while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.

Essential Functions:

  • Install shipboard equipment safely and productively in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Disassemble, diagnose faults, repair, and reassemble mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Mark and measure installations to precise tolerances using calibrated equipment.
  • Safely rig equipment while adhering to all OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Perform inspections, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow established work procedures and contribute to a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Mentor and assist in developing the skills of fellow team members.
  • Promote innovation and efficiency improvements within the department.
  • Support waste reduction initiatives by controlling materials and consumables.
  • Assist in maintaining department equipment and ensuring its proper care and use.
  • Contribute actively toward the team goal of delivering vessels on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area with tools and equipment properly stored and protected.
  • Adhere to company guidelines for both on-site and off-site assignments.
  • Perform work compliant with NAVSEA Standard Items when applicable.
  • Travel to off-site work locations as required.
