Commercial Exhaust Hood Repair Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Commercial Exhaust Hood Technician
to join our team. This role involves cleaning, inspecting, maintaining, and
repairing commercial kitchen exhaust systems to ensure they operate safely and
comply with fire and health regulations. This is a hands-on position suited
for individuals who are mechanically inclined and comfortable working in
physically demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and service commercial kitchen exhaust hoods, ductwork, and exhaust fans
- Remove grease buildup using pressure washing and specialized cleaning tools
- Inspect systems for proper operation and fire code compliance
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance (belts, motors, filters, hinges, etc.)
- Access and work on rooftops to service exhaust fans
- Complete service reports and apply inspection stickers as required
- Follow all safety procedures and industry standards (including NFPA guidelines)
- Travel to various job sites as scheduled
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in HVAC, construction, or related field is a plus
- Ability to work overnight or early morning shifts
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined or greasy environments
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hood cleaning, HVAC, or kitchen exhaust systems
- Knowledge of fire safety standards and compliance requirements
- Experience using pressure washers and hand tools
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, physically demanding work
- Combination of indoor kitchen environments and outdoor rooftop work
- Night shifts common (restaurants are typically serviced after hours)
