JOB SUMMARY

The Microsoft Solutions Engineer (SE) is a strategic technical leader responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end Microsoft-based solutions --including Azure, Office 365, and other enterprise platforms. This role bridges business needs and technical execution, working closely with stakeholders, internal teams, and clients to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The SE also serves as a technical liaison to sales and project teams, contributing to solution scoping, demos, and statements of work

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Lead solution architecture for Microsoft technologies including Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Conduct project discovery, technical research, and scope definition.
  • Create detailed statements of work, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.
  • Estimate resource requirements and timelines for technical delivery.
  • Perform system performance analysis and present findings to technical and executive audiences.
  • Collaborate with vCIOs, sales, and engineering teams to qualify and scope opportunities 4.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal technical development initiatives

Technical & Project Delivery Skills

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Active Directory, PowerShell, and cloud architecture.
  • Deep expertise with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity and access management, including conditional access, MFA, and role-based access control.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Experience with network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, QoS, ACLs
  • Proficiency in solution design, system integration, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in Windows desktop and server operating systems (XP, 7, 8, 10, 11; Server 2008 R2 through 2022)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 -7 years of experience in IT architecture, consulting, or engineering roles.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing Microsoft enterprise solutions.
  • Expertise in:
    • File share migrations from on-premises to SharePoint Online.
    • Identity management migrations from ADDS and workgroups to Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
    • Email migrations from G Suite, on-premises Exchange, and POP3 to Microsoft 365 Exchange Online.
    • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design, deployment, and user migration.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams , including sales, engineering, and client stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development through certifications, training, and hands-on learning.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialist
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • MCSA/E, Net+, CCNA (optional but beneficial)
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required; must maintain an acceptable driving record.
