Veterinary Technician Responsibilites:

As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in patient care and daily hospital operations, including:

  • Intravenous (IV) catheter placement and venipuncture
  • Administering medications (IV, SQ, oral, and prescribed treatments)
  • Assisting with digital radiography and diagnostic imaging
  • Performing laboratory diagnostics including blood, urine, and fecal testing
  • Monitoring and caring for hospitalized patients
  • Assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatments
  • Client communication, education, and treatment plan discussions
  • Admitting and discharging patients
  • Managing patient records and invoicing
  • Supporting surgical and dental procedures as needed
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and patient care documentation

Veterinary Technician Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited Veterinary Technology program
  • Veterinary Technician license, registration, or certification as required by state regulations
  • Strong technical and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced veterinary environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary technician experience in a general practice, specialty, or emergency setting
  • Externship or hands-on clinical experience
  • Passion for continued learning and professional development
