Veterinary Technician Responsibilites:
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in patient care and daily hospital operations, including:
- Intravenous (IV) catheter placement and venipuncture
- Administering medications (IV, SQ, oral, and prescribed treatments)
- Assisting with digital radiography and diagnostic imaging
- Performing laboratory diagnostics including blood, urine, and fecal testing
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalized patients
- Assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatments
- Client communication, education, and treatment plan discussions
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Managing patient records and invoicing
- Supporting surgical and dental procedures as needed
- Maintaining accurate medical records and patient care documentation
Veterinary Technician Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited Veterinary Technology program
- Veterinary Technician license, registration, or certification as required by state regulations
- Strong technical and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and client service abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced veterinary environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous veterinary technician experience in a general practice, specialty, or emergency setting
- Externship or hands-on clinical experience
- Passion for continued learning and professional development
