Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for working directly with approved suppliers to purchase various items or materials (raw materials, MRO, semi‐fabricated parts, office supplies, packaging materials, services and finished product for resale) supplied from requisitions and/or master scheduling information. This position will also perform a root cause analysis of supply issues and make recommendations to resolve. 1. Work directly with suppliers as the face of the Company to purchase finished goods and ensure that suppliers are accountable relative to on time delivery, quantity, and price. 2. Oversee the control of inventory on finished goods, and initiate orders as needed to maintain appropriate inventory levels. 3. Issue and maintain purchase orders for all assigned products from order placement through product delivery. Including updating delivery dates, cost, and reconciling receiving and invoice discrepancies. 4. Advise internal customer of changes in delivery dates and recovery plans, including root cause analysis of supply issues and recommended solutions. 5. Participate in the regular core team meetings as assigned, providing guidance and expertise based on data. 6. Expedite product shortages as needed to maintain inventory levels. 7. Develop strong internal and external Supplier relationships. 8. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work 10. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.Qualifications Bachelors Degree in supply chain and one (1) year of related experience are required. APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society)/CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification preferred. MRP (material requirements planning) knowledge is preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing pull systems, inventory, and production control and reading blueprints and bill of materials is a plus. Must possess a strong analytical and reasoning ability. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company and suppliers. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.Physical Demand Requirements Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel Requirements 10% (3 days per month)
