GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Manager position involves complex supervisory work administering the daily
operations and activities of the Eligibility section of the Crime Victims’
Compensation (CVC) Program. Work involves establishing goals and objectives;
developing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; developing
schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals;
coordinating and evaluating business function, section and division
activities. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Supervises the Eligibility Section of the CVC program by making employee-related decisions including, but not limited to: hiring; implementing disciplinary actions, assigning and reassigning job duties, and conducting performance evaluations
- Oversees the decision making of the CVC claim process for the purpose of determining eligibility according to the provisions of the Texas Crime Victims’ Compensation Act
- Plans section’s assignments and establishes priorities for work load and special projects and ensures completion within established guidelines
- Ensures and maintains knowledge of the Crime Victims’ Compensation Act and administrative rules for the management of the section
- Recommends, writes and reviews policies and procedures for all operational and administrative functions of the section
- Prepares comprehensive, concise and accurate written production and status reports and correspondence as appropriate
- Develops and recommends automated system processes for section functions that enhance efficiency
- Consults and assists in the training of victim witness coordinators, liaisons, law enforcement, staff members, applicants and victim advocates
- Represents the Division at conferences and planning meetings; maintains contact with constituency groups
- Performs related work as assigned
- Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
- Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
- Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
