Flatt Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, client-centered small animal practice providing comprehensive veterinary services including:

Who This Role Is For
This position is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant who:
- Is confident supporting anesthesia and surgery

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong working knowledge of small animal medicine
- Proficiency in veterinary software (AVImark, Cornerstone, or similar)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and restrain patients safely
- Strong attention to detail and medical math accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT)
- Veterinary Assistant certification (CVA)
- Experience in dentistry, radiology, or surgical monitoring
- 2 years of veterinary clinical experience
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Technical Skills
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and support anesthesia induction and monitoring
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
- Conduct in-house laboratory testing (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, cytology)
- Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging
- Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
- Accurately calculate medication dosages and prepare prescriptions
- Maintain surgical suite sterility and clinic cleanliness
Patient & Client Care
- Obtain and document thorough medical histories
- Educate clients on preventive care, vaccines, medications, and post-operative instructions
- Provide compassionate communication during both routine and difficult visits
- Support follow-up communication and appointment coordination
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain detailed and compliant medical records
- Support inventory management and medication tracking
- Process transactions and assist with billing as needed
- Contribute to workflow efficiency and clinic organization
Schedule/Availability:
- Monday - Friday 8-5
- Every other Saturday 8-12pm (one weekday off to accommodate Saturday schedule shift - TBD)
