Job Summary:| The Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine seeks a clinician- educator interested in a career as a clinician, practicing and teaching general internal medicine in a patient-centered medical home. This role will also serve as the Anschutz Internal Medicine Clinic Medical Director.The .30 - .60 FTE physician will provide care for patients at the Anschutz Internal Medicine Clinic, with opportunities for precepting residents and students. Faculty share responsibilities for night, weekend, and vacation coverage with other members of the group practice and will participate in decisions regarding the practice operation. The final FTE allocated to the clinician- educator role may range from .30 - .60 FTE. The clinician-educator will have opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar. Clinician-educators are encouraged to collaborate with other faculty in clinical research projects.Additionally, the physician will serve as the Anschutz Internal Medicine Clinic Medical Director. This .40 FTE role operates as the clinic leader, providing vision, direction and support to the clinic operations. Some of the role’s duties include:
- Provide comprehensive, continuous care for adult patients, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and long-term management of acute and chronic conditions, including patient communication and education, and referrals to specialists.
- Provide consultation to GIM Associate Division Head for Clinical Affairs regarding quality initiatives to include but not limited to NCQA, CPC+, and other value-based programs.
- Collaborate with Clinic Residency Director to ensure mutually beneficial integration of educational needs and clinic operations.
- Participate in interviewing and selecting new faculty.
- Provide clinic-specific new faculty orientation.
- Provide supervision for faculty in clinic, providing feedback or participating in PIP in collaboration with Department/Division as needed.
- Provide consultation for division goals for productivity, hours, and revenue.
- Lead the development of clinic plan for additional funding, i.e. CPC+ or UPL.
- May serve as a GIM Primary Care representative to many Division, Department, School, CU Medicine, and UCHealth System meetings to be a technical advisor, content matter expert, advocate, system-thinker, or other purpose.
- This role may be asked to represent their individual clinic, all GIM Primary Care clinics, and/or the collective needs of the Division.
- This role will be responsible for attending several routine meetings month to month.

- Three (3) or more years of professional experience as an internal medicine clinician

Assistant Professor:
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Current State of Colorado Medical License by the employment start date

*Associate Professor:
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.

- Seven (7) or more years of professional experience as an internal medicine clinician-educator

Anticipated Pay Range:| The starting salary range (or hiring range) for
the physician role as a 1.0 FTE has been established as:Instructor:
$200,000 - $214,000Senior Instructor: $216,000 - $232,000Assistant
Professor: $200,000 – $214,000Associate Professor: $219,000 -
$234,000Professor: $231,000 – 247,000 Based on the current incentive
plan, your total yearly compensation for full-time 1.0 FTE position will be
$240,000 per year for your first two years, which is pro-rated based on actual
FTE. You can increase your compensation by optimizing billing and by working
additional clinical hours. The current average compensation for 32 patient-
facing hours a week of clinical effort is $267,000 per year and the maximal
compensation at 36 clinical hours a week is estimated at $320,000. Any salary
changes will be limited to the salary setting periods, which is July 1.In
addition to .40 FTE protected time for the Clinic Medical Director role, the
incumbent receives an annual administrative stipend of $17,500 which is paid
out monthly. Finally, a secondary monthly stipend is provided to cover any
clinical compensation loss associated with the 0.40 FTE reduction in clinical
time.The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and
reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of
posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on
