About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking engineers to join our Sea Systems business area to
develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs.
Current focal areas include autonomous control, advanced payload integration,
vision systems, and other emerging technologies to enhance our unmanned
surface vehicle platforms’ capabilities.
Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilities We work on applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve Textron Systems’ lines of robotic products.

As an electrical engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills and could perform as an individual contributor or as a team lead. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-functional team environment with a diverse array of exciting technologies and products that directly support our nation’s war fighters.
Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications
systems on vehicles.
• Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
• Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional
design teams, including prototyping and production support.
• Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings,
presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers.
• Support proposal activity, providing input to cost estimates and risk
assessments.
• May lead a design team.
• Will produce technical white papers, and brief management/customers on
planning and progress.
• Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change
Notices/Engineering Change Proposals.
