Senior Financial Crime Officer - LDN
at 3S Money
*Senior Financial Crime Officer*
London
Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 from home.
We are an energetic and collaborative MLRO team operating in a fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same, handling a wide range of cases and queries submitted by all departments while ensuring we consistently meet our regulatory obligations. As the business continues to grow, we are expanding the team to support increasing volumes of escalations, working closely with colleagues across different 3S Money jurisdictions. This role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and confidence in communicating with stakeholders at all levels. As a Senior Financial Crime Officer, you will support the MLRO team with financial crime investigations, assist in preparing and submitting SARs, and contribute to wider compliance activities, alongside managing ad hoc tasks as required.

*Our culture*
At 3S Money, we believe in caring personally, staying curious and making an impact through collaboration not competition. Our culture is genuinely transparent with minimal hierarchy and a commitment to each employee’s professional growth.
*What you’ll be doing*
· Review high-risk onboarding cases escalated by the Onboarding Team, assessing the customer information, due diligence and supporting evidence provided to determine whether the customer should be accepted, rejected or accepted subject to specific conditions or enhanced controls.
· Review high-risk periodic review cases escalated by the Periodic Review Team, assessing the updated customer information, risk assessment, due diligence and supporting evidence to determine whether the business relationship should continue, be exited or continue subject to specific conditions or enhanced controls.
· Clearly document the rationale for onboarding and periodic review decisions, including any conditions, enhanced monitoring requirements, further information requests or other risk-mitigation measures.
· Review and respond to financial crime advice cases referred to the MLRO Team by internal business departments, providing clear, practical and risk-based guidance.
· Review escalations relating to transaction monitoring, AML, sanctions, fraud, KYC and customer onboarding.
· Conduct investigations into suspected money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions breaches, fraud and other forms of financial crime.
· Identify unusual activity, financial crime indicators and emerging risks.
· Provide financial crime guidance and advice to Onboarding, Periodic Review, Transaction Monitoring, Fraud, Compliance and other relevant internal departments.
· Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to resolve complex cases and ensure that agreed conditions, controls and risk-mitigation measures are implemented.
· Participate in financial crime risk-management activities, including relevant committees, working groups and governance forums.
· Assist with the preparation of management information, risk reporting and committee materials where required.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of new projects, processes, systems, controls and financial crime initiatives.
· Identify and recommend improvements to the quality, efficiency and consistency of MLRO Team processes and controls.
· Ensure cases are completed within agreed service-level expectations and that records maintain a clear and complete audit trail.
· Undertake other reasonable financial crime and MLRO Team responsibilities as required.
*About you, you have*
· Demonstrable experience within the financial industry with PSP/EMI/Fintech experience being a strong preference.
· Have intimate and thorough knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, key financial crime regimes, including international sanctions regimes with an interest in sharing these through training and support of other business units.
· Fast and strategic thinking, resourceful and deliver on time; with the ability to work independently as a leader in the Regulatory Compliance team.
· Strong experience with record-keeping and decision-making.
· Great written & verbal communication skills to share your knowledge across the business at all levels.
· Relevant professional qualifications from an internationally recognised body (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, etc.) and a relevant bachelor's degree is advantageous – but not a requirement.
