Tank Machinist
at Acoustical Sheetmetal
- Operates press brake and shear to cut and bend sheet metal panels for the enclosure department.
- Prepares, sets up, and adjusts the press brake as required before cutting and bending.
- Work closely with the Tank supervisor for measurement needed to be cut or bend.
- Help execute the Daily Operations of cutting and bending steel for the department.
- Detect and report faulty operation, defective material, and other unusual conditions to the Tank Supervisor and the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Be able to be trained in the setup and running of the press brake and shear.
- Understand the various types of steel tubes, sheets, and gauges.
- Must lift 50 pounds with no current or previous back problems
- Be able to organize cut and steel panels accordingly once trained
- Maintain workplace in neat and orderly conditions.
- Exposed to hazard/risk that requires body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, hardhats, safety glasses).
- Measure, examine, and ensure accurate materials measurement using a tape measure.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
