Relief/PRN Pharmacy Technician II Certified Acute Care

The Pharmacy Technician II Certified Acute Care works under the moderate supervision of a registered pharmacist and performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to aseptic compounding activities required to dispense IV compounding prescriptions and/or, recording medication histories, and/or activities required to receive, dispense, and deliver non-controlled and controlled medications to provide quality, safe patient care.
Essential Job Function
- Performs various tasks which may include compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, evaluating for accuracy and/or receiving, preparing, distributing, and disposing of medication in compliance with current standards under the close supervision of a licensed pharmacist and/or interviewing patients to obtain an accurate and complete medication history based on organization standard.
- Navigates electronic medical records to gather pertinent information to assist with pharmacy activities.
- Operates pharmacy systems technology and automation to assist with medication preparation.
- Completes medication regulatory and compliance activities.
- Communicates effectively with other health care professionals and delivers quality customer service.
- Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 2 years or Successful completion (graduation) of CH accredited technician training program
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
