IT Technician

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused IT Specialist Level 2 to join our team. The IT Specialist Level 2 will be responsible for maintaining the organization's technology infrastructure, providing technical support to employees, managing hardware and software deployments, and ensuring the security and reliability of our IT systems. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations and common business applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
- Configure and support email, Microsoft Office applications, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Maintain network equipment, including switches, wireless access points, VPN connectivity, and firewalls.
- Install and maintain computer hardware, monitors, docking stations, and other office technology.
- Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and patch management.
- Monitor system performance and respond to outages or technical issues.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and technology assets.
- Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, including endpoint protection, phishing awareness, and security best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware repairs, software support, and technology projects.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees by provisioning and decommissioning user accounts and equipment.
- Participate in technology projects, system upgrades, and office relocations as needed.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if travel between office locations is required).
Preferred:
- Experience supporting accounting or professional services firms.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint management.
- Experience with VoIP phone systems.
- Microsoft, CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+), or other relevant IT certifications.
