Operations Manager

Role Summary
The Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient execution of daily field operations through effective scheduling, administrative coordination, and communication between Operations, Sales, Customers, and field teams. This individual is responsible for overseeing crew schedules, maintaining accurate operational records, coordinating project logistics, and supporting the successful completion of projects.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with operational problem-solving. The successful candidate will proactively manage changing priorities, improve internal processes, ensure accurate documentation, and help maximize the productivity and efficiency of field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily scheduling and coordination of field crews, equipment, and resources across multiple service lines and projects.
- Manage and adjust schedules based on project readiness, customer requests, weather impacts, and operational priorities.
- Serve as a central point of communication between field teams, Sales, Customers, and internal stakeholders regarding schedules, project updates, and operational needs.
- Ensure project information, work orders, customer details, and operational data are accurately entered and maintained within company systems.
- Coordinate project logistics including labor needs, equipment availability, materials, permits, and subcontractor requirements.
- Monitor project progress and work closely with field personnel to resolve scheduling conflicts, operational challenges, and changing priorities.
- Develop daily and weekly schedules, track crew utilization, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare operational reports, maintain project files, and support documentation related to job tracking, invoicing, and project closeout.
- Establish and improve administrative processes, scheduling procedures, and operational best practices.
- Utilize scheduling software, Microsoft Excel, and other operational systems to maintain accurate records and reporting.
- Support leadership with operational planning, workload forecasting, and resource allocation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in operations coordination, scheduling, construction administration, field service management, or a similar operational role.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, paving, landscaping, utilities, mechanical services, or another service-based industry is preferred.
- Strong ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn scheduling and operational software systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with field personnel, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency.
- Ability to work onsite full-time, five days per week.
