About the role

The HR Business Partner for HBS Capability Centers (HRBP – HBS, India & Malaysia) will partner with senior leaders across both centers to deliver the people agenda in support of HBS business priorities. This is a dual role, based in Bangalore, with accountability for HR business partnering in the India and Malaysia Capability Centers, including providing leadership support to the Malaysia Capability Center as a member of the Malaysia Center Leadership Team.

The role will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating center and functional priorities into integrated people plans that enable performance, engagement, retention, organizational effectiveness and long-term capability building. Operating in a global matrix environment, the role will collaborate closely with global HRBPs, HR Centers of Excellence and local HR teams to deliver consistent, scalable and business-focused HR solutions across India and Malaysia.

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as trusted advisor to HBS Capability center(s) leaders in India and Malaysia, translating business priorities into people plans, workforce strategies, and organization interventions.

  • Partner with Malaysia Center Leadership Team to align people priorities with center objectives and help drive operational excellence in the center.

  • Provide HR leadership and advisory support to functional groups across both centers, balancing local market context with consistent HBS ways of working.

  • Review and analyze people data and business insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities related to performance, retention, engagement, workforce planning and employee experience for the functional groups supported in India and Malaysia

  • Provide actionable insights through monthly and quarterly people reviews, enabling leaders to make informed people and organization decisions.

  • Partner with global HRBPs and HR Centers of Excellence on organization effectiveness, grading, talent, reward, employee relations, team culture and people risks

  • Collaborate with leaders and the Talent Acquisition team to deliver excellence in hiring decisions for the functional groups supported in India and Malaysia

  • As part of ‘One HR’ team for HBS, develop and execute leadership development programs and talent initiatives across all Capability Centers to build a pipeline of ‘future-fit’ leaders and key talent through structured interventions such as Job rotation, mentorship and leadership forums

  • Drive delivery of key annual people processes for supported groups in India and Malaysia, including performance, talent, engagement, reward and succession activities.

  • Support initiatives that foster inclusion, belonging and high performance, while contributing to Inclusion & Belonging priorities.

  • Coach leaders and managers to lead inclusively, build team effectiveness, improve manager capability and embed an agile high performance culture.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a HR Business Partner role or similar strategic HR role, demonstrating an understanding of the full employee life cycle and ability to work with autonomy on the HR agenda.

  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders in a matrixed, global or multi-country environment.

  • Strong business partnering capability, with the ability to translate business priorities into practical people plans and measurable outcomes.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using HR data and insights to diagnose trends, identify risks and recommend actions.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with confidence to advise and challenge leaders at different levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with sound judgement and professionalism.

  • Some experience working across multiple countries, geographies and cultures, especially broader APAC is preferable given the dual India and Malaysia scope of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You possess strong organisational and analytical skills and derive insights from data to support business decisions.

  • You are comfortable navigating complex, fast-paced environments and are able to pivot quickly to changing business needs and work with ambiguity
