About the Position:
The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Recruitment provides management for
and execution of undergraduate recruitment efforts for the Simmons School of
Education & Human Development. This position is responsible for building,
managing, and converting the undergraduate prospect pipeline through
coordinated outreach, campus visit experiences, events, school and community
partnerships, and yield strategies.
The Assistant Director is a member of the Simmons Office of Enrollment
Management who works closely with SMU’s centralized Undergraduate Admission
office and the Simmons academic departments to ensure a seamless and
mission‑aligned recruitment experience for prospective first‑year and transfer
students. This role also leads and manages Simmons’ student ambassador program
and contributes to data‑informed planning and reporting related to
undergraduate enrollment outcomes.
Job summary
Essential Functions:

Undergraduate Recruitment & Yield Management
• Manage programming and yield strategies focused on undergraduate recruitment in alignment with Simmons enrollment goals.
• Manage the undergraduate recruitment funnel for Simmons undergraduate programs, including on- and off-campus events.
• Plan and lead recruitment events such as information sessions, visit days, and admitted‑student programs. -
Territory, School & Community Engagement
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, counselors, and community‑based organizations for which
Simmons can serve their students well.
• Represent Simmons at college fairs, school visits, community events, and regional recruitment activities.
• Collaborate with SMU central Undergraduate Admission staff on territory planning and outreach strategies. -
Student Ambassador Program
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise Simmons undergraduate student ambassadors.
• Ensure consistent, high‑quality ambassador engagement during campus visits, events, and outreach activities.
• Provide ongoing coaching and assessment of ambassador effectiveness. -
Collaboration, Data & Communications
• Work with Simmons enrollment leadership to support undergraduate recruitment messaging and materials.
• Manage undergraduate admisison email and communications around events and updates
• Track, analyze, and report undergraduate recruitment, yield, and event data.
• Use data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen recruitment outcomes. -
Other
• Provide additional support to broader Simmons recruitment and enrollment efforts as assigned.
