WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Budget Analyst IV performs advanced (senior-level) budget preparation and
analysis work. Work involves overseeing the planning, organizing,
coordinating, and evaluating of budgetary activities and performance measures.
May supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with
considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Prepare Division and Department budgets (operating, salary, facilities, and
Business Operations sections of agency-wide budgets).
- Prepare budgetary and management reports to provide expenditure data and
trends, analyzes data and makes recommendations.
- Coordinate budget procedures and preparation, issues instructions and
ensures accuracy and timeliness of submission of budget requests, LAR, and
responses to requests from Finance Division.
- Provide or confirm budget coding and approves purchase requisitions for the
division in a timely manner. Research appropriate coding as needed and
ensures available budget.
- Inform management of budget deviations, problems, and events likely to
affect operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-Four years of full-time experience in budget preparation, accounting, auditing, financial planning or management, or positions which provided knowledge of public sector budgetary controls, administrative procedures, and related state and federal regulatory laws.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
- Experience in budget preparation and analysis.
- Ability to interpret and apply state and federal statutes and regulations,
set priorities and organize workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise
solutions to problems, and to write concisely.
- Experience and competence in Microsoft Office programs, including moderate
to advanced Excel skills, strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multiple priority environment and adapt
quickly to changing duties and work demands, amid frequent interruptions.
- Experience with PeopleSoft or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
system preferred.
