Clow Valve - 1st Shift Brass Production Supervisor

Today, Clow Valve Company operates at two locations: Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Riverside, Calif. The Oskaloosa plants include iron and brass foundries, a machine shop, assembly, finished goods warehousing, shipping and administrative offices. Purpose:
Be the driving force in understanding and utilizing available resources and innovatively implement processes to ensure manufacturing excellence that provide a sustainable Clow.
Key Performance Indicators:
Customer Experience
-Meet targeted monthly production/maintenance efficiency and outputs.
Employee Experience:
- Implement two process improvements per year
-Complete two performance conversations monthly with each employee.
Leadership: Score: 4.5/5 on 360 review (.2% incremental growth per year)
Core Functions of Position:
Resource Allocation/ Production/ Quality (40%): Strategically plan, by communicating with general foremen, understanding customer needs, and managing available resources. Creates team member alignment by determining priorities, creating team assignments, and clearly communicating. Ensures all needed resources are available to meet required needs and uphold MCF standards by managing daily required tasks and monitoring progress. Thinks critically and problem solves to make necessary adjustments in the schedule and resources due to customer needs and available work force. Proactively maintains accurate levels on all non-inventory expensed items for production/Maintenance to ensure employees have the needed supplies to complete daily activities. Report, monitor and gauge success of meeting goals and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Leadership (40%): Effectively communicates to team members by conducting daily start-up meetings which include, spending time at each work center and frequently walking the floor - to build relationships with employees and serve as a resource to answer questions, understand processes, and drive quality control standards. Ensures new hires are adequately trained on safety requirements, machinery specifications, and operations. Actively collaborates with managers, supervisors, and team members to successfully troubleshoot, foresee potential problems, and identify improvement opportunities. Diligently document performance reviews and encourage development of team members through regular performance conversations. Identifies learning and development opportunities, seizes coaching opportunities, and solicits feedback by conducting one-on-ones. Mitigate safety related matters through consistent and clear communication on proper department procedures while modifying and enhancing processes as needed to guarantee safety and efficiency.
Administrative (20%): Manages team member data to provide an accurate picture of department needs including monitoring attendance, approving requested vacations, and completing data entry on electronic systems. Manages and coordinates EHS responsibilities by performing and ensuring EHS related inspections and training are completed for your area of responsibility. Be an active business partner by participating in meetings regarding a wide range of topics including coaching, safety, and the overall business strategy and success. Actively participate in the new candidate interview process and the orientation/on-boarding training.
Education & Experience:
Required:
High School Diploma & 1-2 years prior leadership experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment including lead person, leadership trainee and/or growth opportunities.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 Years of prior Leadership experience in a foundry environment.
