Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine testing on raw materials, in process materials, and finished products to ensure quality compliance.
- Collect, prepare, measure, and analyze material samples for laboratory testing.
- Conduct quality inspections across production stages including Extrusion, Press, Converter, and finished goods.
- Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment according to standard procedures.
- Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records and tracking systems.
- Identify and report nonconforming materials or products and notify appropriate teams for corrective action.
- Support investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Assist with incoming raw material inspections and supplier quality verification.
- Provide quality support across Production, Warehouse, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Stockroom, and Paper operations.
- Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
- Maintain laboratory organization, safety, and compliance with company procedures.
- Communicate testing results and provide daily shift reports.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an associate degree in a technical, scientific, or related field.
- Laboratory, manufacturing, or quality experience is a plus but not required; entry-level candidates are welcome to apply, as full training will be provided.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication). Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Basic knowledge of laboratory testing methods and quality control processes.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data collection, documentation, and recordkeeping.
- Effective analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across production, quality, and operations teams.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rotating responsibilities.
- Ability to operate laboratory and analytical testing equipment. Experience with GC/MS Headspace, OTR/WVTR systems, DSC, or similar analytical instruments is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Wears required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection on the production floor.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 to 50 pounds.
- Safely handle laboratory samples, tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and production activity.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail.
