Responsibilities
- Works under general supervision to provide facility security and maintenance.
- Provides unarmed guarding and patrolling of premises and security rounds.
- Assists with medical emergencies as necessary.
- Records information and prepares reports.
- Maintains records of security activities in the appropriate records and logs.
- Performs duties required by departmental supervision.
Requirements
- This job normally requires a level of knowledge in security service equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of some college or equivalent certification.
- Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth, and depth of knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- Ability to secure a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) is required.
- A current, valid Alaska driver’s license, with a clean driving record is required.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- EMT or advanced first aid certification and practical experience preferred.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all passengers, coworkers, visitors, ships' staff, and vendors.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while completing daily tasks.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
- Ability to support and comply with facility security and USCG regulations.
- Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
