System Expert – Coffee & Beverage Systems

Your mission

About the Role
WIK is building the next generation of its global technology organization. As part of this transformation, we are establishing a global System Engineering Experts organization to strengthen engineering excellence, support customer programs, and build reusable technical knowledge across our product portfolio.
We are looking for experienced engineers with deep expertise in coffee machines, water and beverage systems who understand products as complete multidisciplinary systems rather than isolated mechanical, electrical or software components.
As a System Engineer, you will become one of the technical authorities for coffee machine systems, supporting customer projects while contributing to WIK's long-term technology capability.

Your Mission
You will support complex development projects by ensuring technical coherence across the complete coffee machine system while helping build WIK's engineering knowledge for future generations of products.
You will work closely with Product Development, Innovation, Sustainability and Platform Engineering to ensure robust technical solutions, reusable knowledge and engineering excellence.

Your Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for complete coffee machine systems throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support RFQs by evaluating technical feasibility, identifying system risks and providing technical recommendations for sustainable, cost optimized solutions.
• Ensure system-level integration across mechanics, electronics, software, fluidics and thermal systems.
• Participate in customer technical discussions and represent WIK on system engineering topics.
• Guide the engineering teams in solving complex technical challenges and making sound technical decisions.
• Consider system-level risk assessments and support design reviews throughout development.
• Capture lessons learned and transform project experience into engineering standards and best practices.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of future System Experts.
• Support Platform Architects with opportunities for technology reuse and standardization.

Your profile

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience ( >5 years) developing coffee or beverage systems.
• Strong understanding of complete coffee machine architecture, including the interaction between mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems.
• Experience supporting complex multidisciplinary development projects from concept through industrialization.
• Strong system thinking with the ability to evaluate technical decisions at product level.
• Experience working directly with customers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to identify technical risks and propose and guide practical engineering solutions.
• Passion for mentoring engineers and sharing technical knowledge.

Preferred Experience

• Coffee and beverage appliance industry.
• Consumer products or premium household appliances.
• System engineering or technical project leadership.
• DFMEA, risk management and structured product development.
• Platform development or modular product architectures.
• Experience supporting global engineering organizations.
• Understanding Sustainability by design, and trade offs in value engineering greatly valued.
• Project management experience desired

This is not a traditional project engineering position. You will spend most of your time supporting customer development projects while also helping shape WIK's future engineering capability by developing technical standards, mentoring engineers, supporting sustainability targets, platform development and strengthening reusable engineering knowledge across the organization.
