at WIK
Your mission
BACK TO WHERE IT STARTED
WIK was founded in Essen in 1951 by Wilhelm Kruk as a small family business.
Over more than seven decades, it has grown into an international group
designing, developing and manufacturing products for leading brands around the
world.
On 1 September 2026, our Essen location begins a new chapter as part of WIK
Switzerland GmbH, Essen branch. For us, this is more than an organisational
integration: it reconnects the place where WIK began with the global Group we
are building today. We are now looking for an Accountant who wants to help
make that transition strong, reliable and future-ready.
YOUR MISSION
You will take ownership of the day-to-day finance and accounting activities in
Essen while connecting closely with colleagues across WIK Group. Your work
will help ensure reliable reporting, sound local compliance and smooth
collaboration across our international finance organisation.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• End-to-end financial accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts
payable and general ledger accounting.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and
business reports under HGB.
• Support of IFRS-related reporting and alignment where required.
• Fixed asset accounting and maintenance of accurate asset records.
• Preparation of VAT advance returns and annual VAT declarations.
• Preparation and execution of payment runs and liquidity planning.
• Global intercompany reconciliations and coordination of cross-entity
topics.
• Business analyses, variance reviews and continuous improvement of
finance processes and reporting.
• Close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, including
Corporate Tax and external advisors.
Your profile
WHAT YOU BRING
• A degree in business, finance or accounting, or a commercial
qualification combined with further training as a certified accountant /
Bilanzbuchhalter.
• Several years of hands-on experience in financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems, ideally SAP Business One, and
very good MS Excel skills.
• A solid understanding of German commercial and tax law; IFRS knowledge
is a plus.
• A strong affinity for numbers and a structured, accurate way of working.
• Proactivity, ownership and a service-minded approach to internal
stakeholders.
• Interest in actively shaping and improving processes rather than simply
maintaining them.
• Confident English communication and a high level of reliability,
collaboration and communication skills.
• Local GAAP, and IFRS experience is an advantage
