Financial Data Analyst
at 3S Money
*Financial Data Analyst (Reconciliation, Reporting & FP&A)*
Riga
Hybrid: up to 2 remote working days weekly* *
We are looking for a finance-minded Financial Data Analyst with strong financial planning and analysis experience to join our dynamic team in our vibrant office in Riga.
In this global role, you will combine ownership of our client-book reconciliation process with hands-on support for budgeting, forecasting and performance management. You will work closely with Finance and department heads across the business to ensure data integrity, accurate financial reporting, robust planning inputs, and clear visibility of performance against budget.
Your analytical mindset and understanding of accounting logic and financial data flows will help to identify discrepancies, trace their root causes and design efficient solutions.
Beyond reconciliation work, you’ll use your technical skills in SQL, databases, Power BI and Excel to automate processes, build insightful dashboards, prepare budgets and forecasts, and turn budget-versus-actual performance into practical insight for business decision-making.
*Our mission*
3S Money is reinventing international business banking. Founded in 2018, our mission is to help growing businesses send, receive and exchange money in over 190 countries. With offices in five countries and over 180 employees, you’ll be joining a high-energy, high-impact team that’s achieved profitability and has a wealth of opportunity ahead.
*Our culture*
At 3S Money, we believe in caring personally, staying curious and making an impact through collaboration not competition. Our culture is genuinely transparent with minimal hierarchy and a commitment to each employee’s professional growth.
*Our team*
We're a team driven by data, financial insight and collaboration, and we're looking for someone who can connect detailed financial information with the wider commercial picture.
If you enjoy improving financial processes, working with department heads on budgets and forecasts, and turning variances into meaningful insight that shapes business decisions, we’d love to meet you!
*What you’ll be doing*
· Take end‑to‑end ownership of the client‑book reconciliation process, including running reconciliations, analysing and resolving discrepancies across multiple systems
· Maintain and enhance reconciliation reporting in Power BI, including investigating reconciliation breaks across Power BI, source systems, and underlying datasets to identify root causes and fixes where required.
· Support the automation of reconciliation workflows in close collaboration with Finance, Settlements, and Operations teams.
· Analyse operational and financial data, support ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests, and contribute to improvements in data quality, reporting accuracy, and reporting processes.
· Support Finance and Operations teams with reporting, and ad-hoc data requests, ensuring timely follow-up, resolution, and escalation where required.
· Prepare budget forecasts and periodic re-forecasts, working with Finance to consolidate, validate and challenge inputs across departments.
· Help manage the annual and periodic budgeting process, liaising with department heads and other key stakeholders to gather, challenge and align budget assumptions.
· Prepare regular budget-versus-actual analysis, investigate material variances, and explain the key drivers of performance to Finance and relevant department heads.
· Partner with department heads to monitor performance against budget, identify risks and opportunities early, and agree actions to keep plans on track.
· Support business decisions by assessing their financial impact and helping stakeholders ensure that proposed actions are consistent with approved budgets and forecasts.
*About you, you have*
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (or Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science if combined with proven experience working with financial data).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an FP&A, finance, accounting, audit or data-related role, with meaningful involvement in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience analysing budget-versus-actual variances, presenting results in a clear, structured way and ability to translate analysis into practical actions.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, including confidence working with ledgers, balances, and transaction flows.
• Practical experience with Power BI for maintaining and supporting operational and financial reporting.
• Comfortable working with SQL and Microsoft Excel for analysing, validating, and reconciling data.
• Experience - or strong interest - in automating repeatable reporting or reconciliation processes, including exposure to Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools.
• Experience working with business stakeholders to collect requirements, clarify ambiguous needs, and translate them into structured reporting or data solutions.
• Comfortable working independently in execution: able to drive analysis, structure problems, and move work forward without step-by-step guidance.
• Good judgment on when to escalate: able to bring clear context and structured options when input or alignment is needed.
