HDR is seeking a Business Group Manager (BGM) to lead and grow our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group in the Arizona / New Mexico Area.
This position works in partnership with the Arizona / New Mexico Area Operations Manager and the BES Regional Business Group Director, along with all of HDR’s Business Groups and Market Sectors, and coordinates business practices and project delivery services in the Company that require building engineering design.
In the role of Area Business Group Manager for the Building Engineering Services Business Group in Arizona/New Mexico, we'll count on you to help shape the future of multidisciplinary design both locally and across the region:
- Lead and Grow : Run and continue building high-performing design teams across multiple disciplines – Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Control Systems, Fire Protection, and BIM.
- Inspire Excellence : Foster a strong team culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead with Purpose : Support company policies, mentor technical staff, and contribute to planning, proposals, and client engagement.
- Drive Impact : Support projects in multiple diverse markets. Take responsibility for program development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, all within established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company
- Manage Operations : Develop, implement and maintain an effective area business group program for the Building Engineering Services team. Collaborate in preparation of annual revenue forecasts and budgets. Monitor performance of the business group. Help identify and win projects that match the expertise and developmental goals of the staff.
- Deliver Projects : Serve as a Program Manager and/or Principal-In-Charge as applicable
- Collaborate Broadly: Work closely with regional and national leaders across business groups to align strategy, support marketing efforts, and drive growth.
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Maintain a professional or engineering registration and have related technical experience
- Strategic thinking to balance technical leadership with business development.
- Strong project management skills and a passion for delivering high-quality work.
