Finance Associate

at 3S Money

*Finance Associate*

*Riga*

Hybrid: up to 2 remote working days weekly

We are looking for an experienced Finance Associate to join our team in Riga and provide hands-on, remote support to our existing finance team in Luxembourg.

As the business continues to grow, the Luxembourg finance team needs additional capacity to meet increasing day-to-day demands. You will work closely with the team on recurring accounting and finance activities, helping ensure that reconciliations, payments, reporting and supporting documentation are completed accurately and on time.

Your strong accounting foundation, attention to detail and confidence working across entities will help the team maintain accurate books and records, respond to business needs, and deliver reliable financial and regulatory information.

This is a broad, hands-on role with the opportunity to build deeper knowledge of our business and gradually take on wider ownership across accounting, reporting, controls and stakeholder coordination.

*Our mission*

3S Money is reinventing international business banking. Founded in 2018, our mission is to help growing businesses send, receive and exchange money in over 190 countries. With offices in five countries and over 180 employees, you’ll be joining a high-energy, high-impact team that’s achieved profitability and has a wealth of opportunity ahead.

*Our culture*

At 3S Money, we believe in caring personally, staying curious and making an impact through collaboration not competition. Our culture is genuinely transparent with minimal hierarchy and a commitment to each employee’s professional growth.

*Our team*

We're a collaborative international finance team focused on accurate accounting, strong controls and responsive support for a fast-growing business.

If you enjoy getting the detail right, supporting colleagues and helping a growing finance function manage an increasing volume of work, we’d love to meet you!* *

*What you’ll be doing*

· Support recurring accounting activities mainly for our Luxembourg entity, including booking journals and accruals.

· Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities, preparing schedules and supporting documentation and helping the team meet reporting deadlines.

· Prepare expense analysis, investigate unusual movements or outstanding items, and provide clear supporting information to the Luxembourg finance team.

· Support the preparation and execution of supplier and other business payments, ensuring appropriate approvals, accurate records and timely follow- up.

· Perform bank, cash, intercompany and other key reconciliations, investigate differences and work with colleagues to resolve outstanding items promptly.

· Support regulatory, statutory and management reporting by preparing accurate data, reconciliations, schedules and workings.

· Assist with statutory audits and other assurance reviews by coordinating information requests and preparing clear, well-evidenced supporting documentation.

· Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice, payment, account-balance and documentation queries.

· Help maintain finance procedures, controls and records, and contribute practical ideas for improving recurring accounting processes as the business grows.

*About you, you have*

· Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. A professional accounting qualification, or active progress towards one, would be an advantage.

· 4+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, ideally gained in fintech, payments, banking, financial services or another multi-entity regulated business.

· Strong grounding in financial accounting, including general ledger ownership, month-end close, balance-sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and financial statement preparation.

· Experience supporting statutory audit, tax or regulatory reporting and preparing clear, well-evidenced working papers.

· Confidence reviewing financial information, identifying unusual movements or control issues, and following matters through to resolution.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with an ERP or accounting system; comfortable learning new finance and reporting tools.

· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across countries, functions and levels of seniority.

· Able to manage recurring tasks reliably, organise multiple deadlines, follow matters through to resolution and escalate issues with clear context when support or judgement is needed.
