Job Summary:| The Department of
Neurology
at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit a
dynamic candidate to expand its clinical and/or basic science research
programs within our Neuromuscular Section. The position is full time faculty,
with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria
of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care,
and community service. We are seeking individuals who are collaborative,
communicative, caring, detail oriented, organized, proactive, able to think
critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth, and highly

faculty position will work in the Neuromuscular
section, which currently has 6 MDs, 4 APPs (2 Physician Assistants
and 2 Genetic Counselors) and an ACGME neuromuscular fellow. Job duties in
this faculty position will include clinical, teaching, research, and service
responsibilities. The overall determination of research and clinical
activities and allocation of time and effort will be subject to the
determination of the Section Head. In addition, specific responsibilities will
be as follows: Clinical days involve patients with neuromuscular disorders.
There will be opportunity to perform electrodiagnostic studies, biopsies and
neuromuscular pathology on patients seen in clinic who need these tests and on
other patients as allowable by demand and other personnel performing these
studies and their schedules. There will be no inpatient attending
responsibilities. General weeknight evening call (currently 5p-7a) on the
general neurology service is provided by a rotating pool of UCH credentialed
faculty (currently about once per month), but participation in a neuromuscular
call rotation covering 5p-8p weeknights in required. Participation in all
administrative/didactic meetings of the neuromuscular section is expected.
Administrative responsibilities will include data entry into hospital systems,
development of critical pathways, committee work, and projects aimed at
improving the specialty and department mission. It is assumed the bulk of this
non-clinical time will be spent working toward the production of scholarship
activities. Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department
and specialty programs is expected. This position will also work to develop
our ultrasound program, educating trainees and building and expanding our
service line. In addition, there will be involvement in the teaching of
students, residents, and fellows (including the neuromuscular fellow), and in
section and department-wide Quality and Performance Improvement projects.

annual patient visits, ~2000 NCS/EMG studies and ~200 muscle and nerve

Foundation of America 'Partner in Care', Inherited Neuropathies Consortium
member, Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) Clinical Trials Research

Network member, GRASP-Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD) research
consortium member, and RYR1 Foundation 'Expert in Care' site. We are also part
of the DMD Center of Excellence at Children's Hospital Colorado and a member
of the TREAT-NMD Alliance Neuromuscular Network.A competitive, combined ACGME-
accredited Neuromuscular Medicine and UCNS-accredited Clinical Neuromuscular
Pathology 1-year fellowship is offered. The program has made significant
contributions in basic and applied neuromuscular clinical
research and are currently operating 60+ active trials,
including 15 research consortia trials. Clinical trials are integrated into
daily patient encounters and allow patients access to novel therapies with
support from a neuromuscular research program manager, 10 research

Qualifications:| Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must
meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank
position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor
or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Anticipated Pay Range:| The starting salary range (or hiring range)

department incentive plan which would be in addition to the base salary.It is
anticipated that salary will be commensurate with American Association of
Medical College (AAMC) benchmarks for the proposed senior academic rank
(Associate Professor or Professor level). Specific salary is commensurate with
skills and experience. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents
