Quality Inspector

at Newmar

Help Us Build Quality Into Every Product

At Lithionics Battery, quality is more than a final inspection. It is part of everything we do. We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector I who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to help ensure our products meet established quality requirements.

In this role, you will work with quality engineers, supervisors, and technicians to inspect products, evaluate documentation, perform testing and laboratory procedures, monitor process performance, record results, and prepare reports. This position offers the opportunity to strengthen your inspection skills while supporting a quality-driven manufacturing operation.

What You'll Do

  • Perform complete layout inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, and surface plate layouts.
  • Verify incoming, in-process, and outgoing products.
  • Compare parts against specifications, other parts, or approved samples to identify manufacturing variations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and identify critical, major, and minor characteristics.
  • Document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and prepare defect lists.
  • Identify and report nonconforming material and quality concerns.
  • Work with Quality Engineering, team leads, operations, and other departments to support corrective action and the acceptance of parts.
  • Assist with training inspectors and operators on measurement techniques, process procedures, and visual acceptance standards.
  • Perform product audits, select appropriate sample sizes, and pull random samples.

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Zero to two years of mechanical inspection experience.
  • Experience using hand-held precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Understanding of basic quality, calibration, measurement, statistical, and testing concepts.
  • Strong basic math skills, including measurement conversions.
  • Ability to distinguish accuracy from precision and select the appropriate inspection method or measuring tool.
  • Ability to recognize inspection errors, identify nonconforming material, and initiate resolution.
  • General knowledge of AQL, traceability, sampling, and product auditing is helpful.
  • A willingness to continue learning through additional courses and training.
