Anthesis’ Global Transactions Business Line supports investors, lenders, corporates, and other financial institutions in integrating ESG and sustainability into investment decision-making, capital raising, financial product design, and asset ownership. The team brings together deep technical expertise and commercial insight to deliver comprehensive investment due diligence, including ESG/EHS, integrity, human rights, workplace culture, and climate risk and decarbonisation assessments, providing advisory support across the full investment lifecycle, from acquisition through integration to divestment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Growth: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute the Service Area strategy, go-to-market approach, and business plans.
- Operational Leadership: Provide end-to-end direction for business development, technical excellence, project delivery, and quality assurance.
- Talent Management: Lead recruitment, retention, and performance management; provide coaching and mentorship to drive career growth and team capacity.
- Project Oversight: Direct the full lifecycle of complex consulting projects, ensuring high-quality execution from initiation to close-out.
- Client & Market Strategy: Act as a strategic advisor on market trends and regulations; manage key relationships to deliver measurable business value and sustainability impact.
- Business Development: Partner with regional teams to shape opportunities, lead sales activities, and oversee proposal development.
- Service Innovation: Define and evolve market-leading offerings, creating the frameworks, assets, and methodologies needed to stay competitive.
- Financial & Quality Control: Manage financial performance in alignment with global business lines and establish rigorous quality standards and training programs.
- Collaborative Excellence: Partner with global peers to advance thought leadership and share best practices across the organization.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
• 10+ years in sustainable finance, ESG integration, responsible investment,
and/or financial services advisory.
• Proven experience leading portfolio-level ESG strategies, due diligence,
and/or sustainable finance frameworks.
• Track record in business development and managing complex consulting or
financial sector projects. • Strong knowledge of key frameworks: EU Taxonomy,
CSRD (FI), SFDR, PCAF, TCFD, ISSB. 2
• Expertise in some or all of: ESG due diligence; ESG strategy development;
portfolio screening, performance improvement, monitoring and reporting;
climate/transition risk, and/or investment-grade ESG insights.
• Ability to simplify and communicate complex ESG and regulatory topics.
• Experience building, leading, and developing teams.
• Strong line management capability: performance, coaching, and talent
development.
• Ability to set strategic direction and coordinate across global/matrixed
teams.
• Ability to lead go-to-market strategies, shape offerings, and convert
opportunities.
• Strong relationships and relationship-building skills with investors, PE,
banks, and corporates.
• Experience preparing proposals, scopes, and budgets.
• Ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary, full-cycle consulting projects.
• Strong executive-level advisory and presentation skills.
• Ability to design and evolve sustainable finance tools, methodologies, and
offerings.
• Collaborative approach, working across business lines to ensure consistency
and quality.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field (finance, economics, sustainability,
business, etc.).
• ESG or sustainable finance certifications are a plus (CFA ESG, PRI, GARP
SCR).
