We’re looking for a detail‑driven Costing Accountant who enjoys being close
to operations and playing a key role in financial accuracy, product costing,
and customer profitability. In this role, you will collaborate closely with
Production, Sales, Technical, and Finance leaders to ensure we understand the
true cost of what we make — and help the business make smarter, faster
decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on

influence pricing strategy, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Location: Sugar Land, TX
Work type: On-site. No option for remote or hybrid.
Duties
Operational Costing & Month-End

Lead and coordinate month‑end inventory counts with the warehouse team.

Close and validate production jobs to ensure accuracy in cost reporting.

Review and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routers for all finished goods.
New Item Costing & Quoting

Partner with Sales and the Technical team to estimate production costs for new items.

Prepare accurate and timely cost quotations for customer projects.

Ensure all quotes reflect up‑to‑date cost assumptions and production standards.
Profitability Analysis & Reporting

Collaborate with the Senior Financial Analyst and VP of Finance to build reporting on customer and product profitability.

Provide insights that drive pricing decisions, margin improvement, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Special Projects

Support cost‑reduction initiatives across production and supply chain.

Assist with annual updates to production standards.

Participate in customer profitability reviews and other ad‑hoc financial analysis.
Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
-
2+ years of manufacturing costing experience preferred.

Strong understanding of standard cost, BOMs, routers, raw materials, and production variances.

Ability to build strong working relationships across production, operations, and business teams.

Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
-
Proficiency in Excel and Word; experience with manufacturing cost systems is a plus.

Knowledge of work center or machine rates.
