Data, Trends & Insights Manager

The Data, Trends & Insights Manager is a pivotal role within WPP Beauty Tech Labs, a bespoke team embedded within Wavemaker and dedicated to shaping the future of beauty marketing for L'Oréal Groupe. This role is responsible for translating social media data and emerging trends into actionable insights that drive campaign strategy across 32 iconic beauty brands. The work directly influences how brands like Maybelline, Lancôme, L'Oréal Paris, and Kérastase connect with modern audiences across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest. Success in this role means delivering sharp, timely insights that move at the speed of culture and give both the internal team and L'Oréal stakeholders a genuine competitive edge.

  • You will serve as the insights lead across L'Oréal Groupe's full brand portfolio, working closely with creative and strategy teams, division leads, L'Oréal advocacy teams, and brand managers to ensure data shapes every major strategic decision
  • The role carries significant scope, supporting analysis across 32 brands and multiple social platforms using tools including Traackr, Brandwatch, Market View Online, Power BI, and Google Analytics
  • A core weekly deliverable is a trends report shared with both the WPP Beauty Tech Labs team and L'Oréal directly, designed to inform campaign and brand planning in real time and enable the business to move at the speed of culture
  • You will own influencer campaign measurement end to end, tracking ROI, engagement, reach, and brand perception impact to demonstrate commercial value and inform future investment decisions
  • The role sits at the intersection of beauty, technology, and social media, offering exposure to some of the most forward-thinking brand marketing happening in Australia today

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in data analysis, social media insights, or trends roles, with a strong working knowledge of how platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest generate and surface meaningful data
  • Hands-on proficiency with analytics and reporting tools such as Traackr, Power BI, Google Analytics, or comparable platforms, with the ability to build clear performance dashboards and campaign reports
  • Experience using social listening platforms such as Brandwatch, Meltwater, or Hootsuite to monitor brand sentiment, audience conversations, and emerging industry trends
  • Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to conduct statistical analysis and extract meaningful, actionable insights from large and complex datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives for stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels
  • A collaborative working style with a demonstrated track record of partnering across creative, strategy, and client teams to drive data-informed decisions
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Familiarity with SEO and content performance tools such as SEMrush, Google Trends, or BuzzSumo, particularly in relation to TikTok search behaviour within the beauty category
  • Experience with data management tools including Excel or SQL for organising and interpreting complex datasets
  • A genuine passion for the beauty industry and social media culture, with a sharp eye for emerging trends before they hit the mainstream
  • Prior experience working across large, multi-brand accounts within an agency environment
