Have significant experience in crew pairing and roster optimisationwithin an airline environment.
Enjoy turning complex optimisation data into clear, practical insightthat improves safety, efficiency, resilience and crew experience.
Have strong knowledge of EASA FTL, fatigue risk management and crewplanning constraints.
Are confident using optimisation platforms such as IBS, Jeppesen orequivalent.
Can be in our fantastic Luton head office 3 x per week.
THE TEAM
Our Crew Optimisation team plays a key role in helping easyJet deliver safe, legal, robust and cost-effective flying programmes across our network. Working closely with Planning, Rostering, Operations, Technology teams and external suppliers, the team develops high-quality crew pairing and roster optimisation solutions that balance operational performance, commercial outcomes, compliance and crew lifestyle.
THE ROLE
As Senior Crew Optimisation Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to- end delivery of high-quality crew pairing and roster optimisation solutions. You will make sure outputs are cost-efficient, operationally robust and fully compliant with regulatory, contractual and company requirements.
This is a technical specialist role within the Crew Optimisation team. You will lead complex analysis, support optimisation strategy and act as a key link between operational delivery and system development. You will also support the wider team by providing guidance to Crew Optimisation Officers and deputising for the Crew Optimisation Manager when required.
In this role, you will:
Lead the monthly production of crew pairings and roster optimisersolutions, ensuring outputs are safe, legal and cost-effective.
Take ownership of complex or high-impact pairing and roster scenarios,balancing operational and commercial outcomes.
Oversee and validate optimiser inputs, parameters and outputs, ensuringalignment with schedule, crew availability and planning assumptions.
Coordinate re-runs, scenario testing and solution refinement to improveoutput quality and resilience.
Conduct deep-dive analysis of pairing and roster performance,identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Provide recommendations that enhance productivity, reduce cost andimprove crew lifestyle balance, while considering fatigue and operational constraints.
Translate complex optimisation outputs into clear, actionable insightfor stakeholders.
Act as a subject matter expert on pairing and roster optimisationtools, including systems such as IBS and Jeppesen.
Support the testing, validation and implementation of systemenhancements, ensuring readiness for live production.
Work with external suppliers and internal technology teams to improveoptimiser performance and outputs.
Contribute to the development of new solver strategies, parameters andoptimisation approaches.
Act as a key point of contact for Crew Optimisation-related queriesacross Planning, Rostering and Operations teams.
Communicate optimisation decisions to senior stakeholders, includingthe rationale and trade-offs behind recommendations.
Ensure outputs comply with FTL regulations, industrial agreements andcompany policies.
Maintain and improve handover quality standards, production processes,controls and documentation.
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within pairingand roster production.
Provide guidance, mentoring and support to Crew Optimisation Officers. Support onboarding and capability development within the team.Deputise for the Crew Optimisation Manager in meetings or decision-making forums when required.
