Description:
Performs a variety of aircraft cabin/interiors engineering work including drawing interpretation, design and substantiation as related to transport category aircraft cabin interior modifications.
What you will be responsible for:
· Research new technology (material and manufacturing processes) for use in seating and interior products for the development of new lightweight and cost-efficient products.
· Design and analyze aircraft cabin interior systems and components, typically in support of aircraft interior modifications (STC projects) including integration of seats, monuments, PSUs, flooring, emergency equipment, sidewall/dado/ceiling panels, windows, stowage bins and placards.
· Work independently to gather data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding scope and parameters.
· Coordinate and monitor cabin interiors aspects of project schedule with project managers and cabin engineers.
· Prepare cabin interior modification/installation/fabrication drawings, engineering reports and work instructions. Support cabin engineers with assignments and skills development as needed.
· Participate in design reviews and presentations with suppliers, customers, and various internal departments to obtain input on, agreement with, and understanding of project objectives and schedules.
· Troubleshoot aircraft issues during STC prototype and post STC using standard testing tools and methods.
· Travel both domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
