Industrial Maintenance Millwright
(Job will be assigned at New Hire Orientation and is based on the production
needs at that time.)
Location: Tyler, TX
Pay: Pay Rage $32.08 - $36.09/hour
Shift: Most openings are 2nd & 3rd Shift
What You’ll Do:
Complete the maintenance duties related to your assigned work area, such as:
- Coordinate, participate in, and assist with the construction, fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of production and operational equipment.
- Maintain and repair machines that utilize hydraulic and pneumatic controls used in the production of cast iron pipe and fittings.
- Assist the supervisor with planning, scheduling, and assigning maintenance tasks.
- Order necessary parts and materials from the warehouse or purchasing department to support equipment installation and upkeep.
- Locate, diagnose, and repair issues within mechanical systems and equipment.
- Work safely with electrical hand tools, power tools, and various measuring and testing instruments.
- Read, interpret, and help others understand detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns to identify root causes and restore operations while minimizing downtime.
- Always follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate completed work and equipment status to your supervisor, the next shift, and the maintenance scheduler.
- Keep your work area clean, safe, and orderly.

Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Have verifiable and consistent work experience.
- Pass a written exam to demonstrate knowledge of various millwright topics. (The result will be used to determine a candidate's base knowledge for the appropriate starting wage.)
- Pass an employment background check, drug screening, and physical fitness test. (To be coordinated through Tyler Pipe's HR & Safety Departments)
- Ability to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems malfunctions.
- Understanding of the correct handling and use of mechanical repair tools and equipment.
- Ability to effectively manage time and coordinate work functions with co-workers.
- Initiative and ability to work unsupervised at times.
- Willingness to work when needed and to help and volunteer across a variety of different machines.
- Dedication to safety by following all safety rules/procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
