At GP West Hills North Veterinary Clinic, we are looking for someone who enjoys being in the middle of it all, supporting patient care while creating a welcoming and organized experience for our clients.
As a Hybrid Veterinary Assistant and Client Service Representative, you will be at the heart of our busy and dynamic hospital. This is a hands-on, fast- paced role that blends clinical support with front desk coordination, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys working with both animals and people.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an assistant and receptionist at our veterinary hospital, you will be at
the center of a busy and collaborative environment. This role requires a
dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys the
rewarding challenge of working closely with both animals and their owners.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Greeting clients with a warm and professional demeanor
• Managing appointments and front desk flow
• Supporting communication between the veterinary team and pet owners
• Assisting with safe restraint of cats and dogs during exams and procedures
• Helping maintain a smooth, organized, and efficient hospital environment

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
- Greet clients and patients warmly, in person and by phone
- Schedule appointments, check patients in and out, and manage the daily calendar
- Answer multi-line phones, route calls appropriately, and handle client inquiries
- Process payments, invoices, and medical records accurately
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
- Handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
- Assist in the safe restraint of cats and dogs during examinations and procedures (training provided)
- Support the veterinary team with basic clinical tasks and patient flow as needed
- Help maintain a clean and organized treatment and exam space
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant, veterinary receptionist, medical receptionist, or customer service professional preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Basic computer proficiency; experience with veterinary practice management software is a plus
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
