Financial Analyst

_We have an exciting opportunity for aFinancial Analyst in Regina, SK. _

Duties include:

  • Maintains affiliate distribution model for new contracts and product codes. Prepares monthly affiliate and copyright and tariff payment. Maintains ongoing relationships with CCSA, affiliates and SOCAN.
  • Participates in the annual price increase and budgeting process by providing support to management in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Prepares monthly variance analysis of revenues and distribution costs and monthly completeness analysis of revenue.
  • Prepares month end entries and reconciliations.
  • Creates special reports and queries with AccPac, Crystal or Lotus Approach. Maintains the interface from the AS400 to the general ledger.
  • Participates in negotiations as part of the Contract Review Committee (CRC).
  • Completes CRTC broadcast annual return.
  • Ensure full completion of launch forms: gathering information, submitting launch forms, maintaining outstanding list, communication of outstanding items, elevating potential issues.
  • Works with broadcast auditors when audits are being performed.
  • Prepared channel line up costing analysis with recommendations on pricing.
  • Cross trains responsibilities/duties with the Senior Accountant and Business Analyst and ensures procedures and processes are current.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of departmental processes and provides coverage for other department members.
  • Various other projects and accounting duties as assigned.

**Qualifications: **

  • The incumbent requires a SIAST Diploma or University Degree with a major in accounting.
  • CPA designation would be an asset.
  • Strong background in Excel is required. Experience with database management is an asset.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience as a financial Analyst.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check.
