Role Purpose
The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing product and operational costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, budgeting, and profitability reporting. The role supports business decision-making through accurate cost information, financial analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and review standard costing models.
- Analyze material, labor, overhead, and production costs.
- Monitor actual vs. standard costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support business decisions.

- Perform monthly analysis of material, labor, overhead, inventory, and yield variances.
- Investigate cost fluctuations and provide recommendations.
- Prepare management reports on cost performance and profitability.
- Support annual budgets and forecasts.
- Develop product cost models and financial projections.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast targets.
- Support pricing and margin improvement initiatives
- Prepare cost-related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Maintain product cost structures and profitability analysis.
- Support ERP costing processes and data integrity.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and stronger financial controls.
- Desired Skills
- Professional qualification required: ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or CMA.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Accounting, or Management Accounting
- Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, or Industrial sectors preferred
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
