Materials & Supplies Coordinator (St. Thomas)

The Materials and Supplies Coordinator is responsible for coordinating departmental activities related to warehousing and purchasing. This includes overseeing the receipt, storage, inventory control, and distribution of materials and supplies, as well as assisting with purchasing activities to ensure that materials are obtained in a timely, cost-effective manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepares material and supply purchase orders based on approved requisitions
- Processes change orders; notifies vendors of material and quantity requirement revisions
- Contacts vendors on rate adjustments and incorrect materials; follows-up orders to expedite deliveries
- Maintains contact with vendors regarding the current status of purchase orders
- Coordinates with managers and supervisors to ensure execution of special assignments
- Maintains efficient systems relative to receiving, inspecting, identifying, and stocking of materials and equipment
- Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and equipment in accordance with scheduled priorities
- Monitors the completion of projects and reports observations and results
- Keeps abreast of price trends; makes recommendations on the timing and quantity of purchases and the establishment of the most economical purchase quantities
- Arranges for the sale of scrap, obsolete, and surplus materials, and by-products
- Investigates new developments relative to materials and supplies and makes recommendations

May utilize a calculator, computer terminal, or office machinery in the performance of assigned duties

Must maintain a valid Virgin Islands driver's license and be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary. Wear proper personal protective equipment. Maintain work area in a safe and orderly fashion. Required to operate company vehicle and must maintain all Authority issued equipment (e.g. communication devices, vehicle). Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.

- Knowledge of PC and different software applications
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Business Administration and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in procurement and general administrative abilities.
