Fleet Accounting Specialist
at Advanced Fiber Technology
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor invoices, customer billing, insurance documentation, reporting, and collections
- Process weekly driver payroll and owner-operator settlements accurately and on time
- Perform month-end reconciliations, including A/R, credit cards, payables, and fuel cards
- Assist with IFTA reporting and support tax preparation activities
- Manage receivables, cash application, and support overall cash flow management
- Prepare financial reports and support special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience; trucking or logistics industry experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software (Concentric and Spend Clarity a plus)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
- Solid understanding of trucking-specific financials, including general ledger accounts, IFTA, fuel cards, and factoring
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on checks and balances and audit trails
- Ability to clearly communicate financial information and create reports based on business needs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to re-prioritize daily based on deadlines and special projects
Physical Demands:
- This position is primarily office-based.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
- Frequent use of hands for data entry and document handling
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or light lifting (up to 15 pounds)
- Visual acuity to review financial documents and computer screens
