TxDOT's Fort Worth District is looking for a Transportation Maintenance Technician I or II located at 2400 US 180 W, Mineral Wells, TX 76048. All the training, tools, and uniforms will be provided, and we have lots of opportunities to grow within the agency. We offer company-sponsored CDL training with $0 upfront monetary commitment. Earn your full salary while training with lodging, transportation and per-diem provided if necessary. Safety is ALWAYS our number one priority.
TMT I - Salary Grade: A16 / $40,918 - $61,130
TMT II - Salary Grade: A17 / $42,976 - $64,469
A Day in the Life - Transportation Maintenance Tech I:
· Setup temporary traffic control.
· Maintenance and/or material and process inspection.
· Maintain drainage systems, dig and clean ditches and repair culverts, inlets and erosion.
· Clear debris, maintain wooded areas, clear brush, mow grass and spray roadside vegetation.
· Repair guardrails, concrete barriers, roadway delineators, milepost markers and fences.
· Helping the public during emergency situations.
· Work requires contact with private entities.
· Other duties as assigned
· Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
A Day in the Life - Transportation Maintenance Tech II (additional duties):
· Operate a variety of equipment and perform manual labor to repair roadway surfaces and shoulders.
· Assists in inspecting traffic control devices and their placement at construction project sites for compliance with specifications for devices; safety laws, rules, regulations and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
· Light and heavy equipment operation requiring a Class "A" CDL.
