Ferry St, Eagle Pass, TX, in the Middle Rio Grande ISA Manager department.

WHO YOU ARE:
The MSFW Outreach Employee (Workforce Development Specialist II) performs
complex (journey-level) employment work. Works under general supervision with
moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
An enthusiastic individual that is looking to make a difference in people's

as a workforce development specialist can be incredibly rewarding.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Perform outreach to migrant seasonal farm workers (MSFW), visits community-based organizations, completes logs of daily outreach activities, prepares and submits required reports.
-Interview clients and determines work-related needs; completes work applications for job search assistance using proper keywords and pertinent information; renews and updates work registrations.
-Perform screening and refers clients to job postings, job developments, and performs job development activities as needed. Performs data entry, refers clients to supportive service agencies and provides information to the general public.
-Instruct clients on Employment Services, services available to MSFW's, call-in procedures, receives complaint info and records in complaint log, and receives job orders from employers seeking employment services.
-Perform outreach to some employer industries such as but not limited to agricultural, non-agricultural, food processing, and other employers.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
- Two years and six months of full-time experience in gathering information,
interviewing, or counseling; the instruction, demonstration, and
interpretation of policies in a public or private enterprise; direct social
work; eligibility determination; or in workforce development issues and
programs and customer service.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
