Job Summary

FCC Construction is part of the OSCO Construction group, responsible for General Contracting/Construction Management. FCC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Field Coordinator to support the successful delivery of small- scale industrial construction projects. This role is integral to the coordination of field operations, working closely with site foremen and unionized trades to ensure work is executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with project requirements.

Based in Saint John, and operating from site, the Field Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing daily workforce coordination, tracking project costs, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting financial and administrative processes associated with ongoing work. The position requires a balance of field presence and administrative rigor, with a strong focus on organization, communication, and data accuracy.

This role is well suited for an early-career professional who is looking to build practical experience in construction operations, project coordination, and client engagement within a dynamic industrial setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning, an ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to supporting both field teams and project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track daily labour hours, including cost coding, detailed work descriptions, and attendance notes (e.g., absences, sick time)
  • Prepare and submit daily payroll and material distribution documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Review project scopes and assist with coordinating and scheduling
  • Support weekly cost tracking and reporting across lump sum, budget, and time & material projects
  • Assist site foremen with the preparation of quotes and estimates (cost-plus and lump sum)
  • Track, manage, and return rental equipment
  • Monitor PPE inventory levels and coordinate procurement from internal and external suppliers
  • Engage with clients to support Change Orders (COs) and Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Review and provide additional details for Purchase Orders as required by administration
  • Support monthly work order close-out by reviewing W1 lists
  • Maintain project documentation in Procore, including daily logs, photos, and progress updates
  • Assist with issuing and tracking purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Coordinate and track RFIs, shop drawings, and project correspondence as required

Technical Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in construction, engineering technology, or a related field (community college preferred)
  • Up to 5 years of experience in a construction or industrial environment (co-op or internship experience considered)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn project management software (e.g., Procore)
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, cost tracking, and project coordination principles is an asset
  • Ability to learn and manage project financials with accuracy and attention to detail
