Job Overview
The Cafeteria Specialist Substitute, under direct supervision, is responsible
for preparing appropriate quantities of food to meet the menu requirements and
maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety
practices. The incumbent will promote an atmosphere which reflects efficiency,
cleanliness and friendliness.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare quality food according to a planned menu using tested or standardized recipes
- Receive food and non-food deliveries and be responsible for the storage and care of food items and supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized storage and work area
- Demonstrate knowledge and follow manufacturer guidelines for care and use of equipment
- Maintain sanitary working conditions to eliminate cross contamination
- Meet all scheduled meal times and serves the food as per departmental policies and procedures
